I tend to i...I love how you applied this to piano. I tend to introduce the challenging parts first too, but I think I'll try changing that up a bit. Last week I started a lesson with a note naming race with a student who seems to be lacking a little motivation. She surprised me (and herself) and easily aced the race and was so much more positive and enthusiasm during the rest of the lesson.
